Ervadi [Tamilnadu] Protest - SDPI Protests against inactive Eruvadi Panchayat

Eruvadi : Since June 15, 2010 Eruvadi people affected severely by diseases causes vomiting and dysentery. 5 people dead and More than 1500 affected.

Tamil nadu loksaba speaker Mr. Avudaiyappan, Member of Parliament Mr. Ramasubbu, Mr VasanthaKumar MLA along with Tirunelveli District Collector M.Jayaraman and Health inspectors visited the hospital.

SDPI requested them 1) to offer Rs 2 lacks for the family of the deceased 2) to bear the expenses spent by those affected and got treatment in private hospitals due to the lack of facilities in Government hospital and 3) to diagnose and prevent the disease and offer proper vaccine at war footing.

So far Action has not been taken on the request. Social democratic Party of India finally resorted to protest against the Eruvadi Panchayat. Protest held at Eruvadi Bus Stand, was presided by Nasirkhan, District President of SDPI.

District vice president Habib Rahman welcomed all and noted speaker Mohideen Abdul Kader condemned that the Eruvadi panchayat’s inactiveness is the main cause of the death of innocent lives at eruvadi. And pointed out similar deaths happened in Uthamapalayam Theni District and government had given compensation for that. Similarly he requested the government to give compensation without any discrimination.
