Sdpi protest for innocent vendor beaten by DMK party men

Mohammed Qasim a Foot path vendor in T nagar the shopping hub of Chennai city was attacked by hooligans on 29^th dec 2010. The hooligans who identified themselves as the men of DMK’s 126^th ward Secretary Tamil Arusu and regularly collected money (mamul) from local vendors in T Nagar. On Wednesday when Mohammed Qasim a local vendor refused to pay the amount he was beaten by the men of DMK ward Secretary. Later the incident the party cadres of SDPi leaded by South Chennai District President P. Mohammed Hussain launched an demonstration at R1 police station T nagar and compelled the police to register the case on the hooligans. The police who earlier delayed the registration of the complaint but did not have other option to register a FIR because the SDPi cadre’s number was constantly increasing and started flooding the police station.
